If you just hate it when you reach into the fridge to find a pack of chicken past its use by date, well here’s an idea for you! We find this incredibly simple but effective and helps you to avoid throwing away perfectly good food!
I always write the ‘use by’ dates for my main ingredients on the blackboard in the kitchen, and then use them in date order! Obviously I aspire to menu plan, but that is nigh on impossible in our house, with all the comings and going and faddish appetites so this works much better for us. And this also means I also don’t have to think about what to cook! Less taxing on the brain, the wallet and the planet!
