Coffee shop giant, Starbucks, have launched a 3 month trial in 35 of its London stores, to test the efficacy of the ‘latte levy’. Charging an extra 5p for take away coffees is the Government’s brilliant plan to tackle the plague of disposable cups being generated by high street coffee shops.
Whether the plan will be effective is questionable, with environmentalists calling for improved access to appropriate recycling facilities rather than incentives to use re-usable cups.
